The Ministry of Industry, SME, and Cooperatives wishes to draw the attention of the public at large, more particularly operators of the SME sector in Mauritius as well as Rodrigues, to a fake ‘SME GRANT PROGRAMME’ scam, in which the name of the Hon. Minister of Industry, SME & Cooperatives, and public officials are being used to deceive individuals into providing personal information and financial details under the false pretense of a grant approval process.
The Ministry makes a strong appeal to the public not to fill in any form linked to the aforementioned matter or disclose any personal information. Any person who may have corresponded regarding this scam is requested to immediately stop all communication with the alleged approval grants committee, as no such committee exists, within the SME Division.
The Ministry emphasises the importance of relying on verified and official sources for accurate information, regarding government initiatives, financial grants, or schemes, which the Ministry communicates through official channels.
The Ministry strongly advises everyone to remain vigilant, verify the authenticity of any request or information received, refrain from sharing personal information, and avoid engaging with suspicious forms or pages. Such cases should be immediately reported to the relevant Authorities.
The public is strongly advised to refer only to official sources for updated news and events. Here are the official contact details for the Ministry: –
